Posted on: December 16, 2012 by adminCancer patients, as well as survivors and caregivers, often have a challenge with setting boundaries. We tend to be people pleasers who often can't say NO! We want everyone to be happy - even if it's at our own personal expense. And the holiday season can truly compound this effect, especially when it concerns family members and all of those old ingrained patterns of "doing what's expected", "not making waves", and "sacrificing our own needs" for everyone else's needs. Sound familiar?
Posted on: December 11, 2012 by adminThe Holiday Season can be stressful enough without the added challenge of dealing with cancer - or caregiving for a loved one with cancer. Apart from the ongoing flurry of extra holiday activities, social and community events, family gatherings, and shopping and cooking specifically for the holidays, there is the added stress of the non-stop hustle and bustle of traffic, both within our homes and out there on the roads and in the stores. Whew!
Posted on: December 9, 2012 by adminOne of the most important lessons a cancer patient, survivor or caregiver learns is about the need for balance. But just how the heck do we achieve that? Well cancer is simply the body out of balance...way out of balance. And since everything is energy, and we attract back to us the energy frequencies that we are transmitting, we have to ask ourselves what kind of vibrational energy patterns we're sending out?
Posted on: November 25, 2012 by adminWithout question, Thanksgiving Day is a beautiful reminder for us to review what we have and express gratitude for our many blessings, no matter how small some of them may seem. There are always many others who are far worse off than we are! I remember a long time ago, when I had just made it past the 5 year survivor mark (after my cancer journey), and an older gentleman (a client of mine at the time), when asked how he was doing, smiled broadly and with a twinkle in his eye, replied: "Fantastic! Today's a great day...everyday I'm above ground is a GREAT day!"
Posted on: November 18, 2012 by adminYears ago, as I endured the excruciating experience of uncontrollably advancing cancer, I learned that the physical illness is the final outward expression of all of the disconnection going on within, on the mental, the emotional, and the spiritual levels of our being.
Posted on: June 18, 2012 by adminAs you many of you know by now, I don't just come from the perspective of a caregiver (both personally and professionally), but also that of a 5-time cancer survivor - who is now very much a "thriver"! And music was, and is, a very important part of what I personally incorporate on a daily basis, as well as share with my patients in any coaching program they invest in with me! We are whole beings (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual), not fragmented. And as such, each of these parts of us requires proper care and maintenance. So on that note...

Spiritual Awakenings Come in Many Forms...
Have you ever made big plans for a special day in your life?
Where you actually mapped out the entire day of fabulous (somewhat) self-indulgent activities? You know what I'm talking about, right? Meeting up with special friends for scrumptious meals, indulging in that decadent 7 layer mocha cream chocolate cake, hitting your favorite local winery and tasting their most expensive wines available in their tasting of the day, and then heading out to dance the night away with a great band and great friends!
Well, that was my plan for my birthday on May 11th. And as a 5-time cancer survivor, who's now a long time thriver, I definitely believe in celebrating life. The day started off beautifully with a leisurely morning enjoying a fressh cuppa...

And whether we are cancer patients - or survivors - or even caregivers of loved ones on the cancer journey, Jimmy's three essential daily words or keys are the foundation for a significant and meaningful life...
