Gratitude Is An Everyday Practice - Not Just One Day A Year!Posted on: November 25, 2012 by admin Without question, Thanksgiving Day is a beautiful reminder for us to review what we have and express gratitude for our many blessings, no matter how small some of them may seem. There are always many others who are far worse off than we are! I remember a long time ago, when I had just made it past the 5 year survivor mark (after my cancer journey), and an older gentleman (a client of mine at the time), when asked how he was doing, smiled broadly and with a twinkle in his eye, replied: "Fantastic! Today's a great day...everyday I'm above ground is a GREAT day!"Are You Moving Away From Illness OR Towards Health!Posted on: November 20, 2012 by admin So what's in a question? A lot of power! You have to ask the right questions to get the right answers for your healing journey. A simple question I asked myself everyday more than 23 years ago, and I ask all of my patients and clients today is this: "Are you moving away from the illness or are you moving towards health?" There is a huge difference in our outcomes based on which of these we focus our attention on. Remember that what you focus on expands...so what are you focusing on: Illness - OR - Health?Hour of Power Walk in Nature Reconnects You to Your SoulPosted on: November 18, 2012 by admin Years ago, as I endured the excruciating experience of uncontrollably advancing cancer, I learned that the physical illness is the final outward expression of all of the disconnection going on within, on the mental, the emotional, and the spiritual levels of our being. Are You On Information Overload? Most Cancer Patients and Caregivers Are!Posted on: August 18, 2012 by admin Information overload is extremely hard to deal with. Most cancer patients and their caregivers, once they get over the initial shock of the diagnosis, tend to get really excited and relieved when they begin researching their specific type of cancer, and discover all of the available information, treatment modalities, resources, groups, centers and organizations available to them. Soon however...Got Cancer? Caring for Someone With Cancer? What is the #1 Thing Cancer Patients Want A Lot More Of?Posted on: August 11, 2012 by admin Cancer Patients Want To Laugh! ~~~~~~~~~~ Yes, I can absolutely guarantee you that laughter is critical for both, enduring the journey of cancer, and overcoming it. Furthermore, it is a very important step in the prevention of cancer as well. I know this from the perspective of the patient - as well as that of a caregiver. Been there, done that, as the saying goes, on both counts. ~~~~~~~~~~ In fact, lots of peer-reviewed research indicates a direct link between laughter and great health. Not just maintaining great health, but also overcoming cancer (or other illnesses) and creating sustainable great health. The following excerpt is from an article I found posted at a really refreshing website: The Good News Network. Though Lori Hope (what a great name!) is in hospice, she has an uncanny knack for seeing the humor in everything, and...

Cancer Affects The Whole Person So Why Do We Just Cut, Burn & Poison The Tumor?Posted on: August 10, 2012 by admin The tragedy for most cancer patients, once diagnosed, is that they are not given the full scoop on what they are about to go though. They get the diagnosis, and then they are rushed into surgery, followed by soul-destroying treatments, without any significant counseling about what to potentially expect in all the other areas of their lives.Music Feeds - and Heals - the Body and the Soul!Posted on: June 18, 2012 by admin As you many of you know by now, I don't just come from the perspective of a caregiver (both personally and professionally), but also that of a 5-time cancer survivor - who is now very much a "thriver"! And music was, and is, a very important part of what I personally incorporate on a daily basis, as well as share with my patients in any coaching program they invest in with me! We are whole beings (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual), not fragmented. And as such, each of these parts of us requires proper care and maintenance. So on that note...How to Create - And Become Addicted To - Healthy New Habits!Posted on: June 15, 2012 by admin You know it's time to take control of your health! But something always gets in the way, right? Believe me, I'm no different. As a cancer survivor, who is known for truly "thriving" not just surviving, I do a lot of healthy things on a daily basis. Yet, I had, like many of my clients and friends, become complacent about exercise - well, at least outdoor exercise. Something else always came first...you know what I'm talking about?A Shocking Experience and Inner ReflectionsPosted on: June 7, 2012 by admin Spiritual Awakenings Come in Many Forms... Have you ever made big plans for a special day in your life? Where you actually mapped out the Well, that was my plan for my birthday on May 11th. And as a 5-time cancer survivor, who's now a long time thriver, I definitely believe in celebrating life. The day started off beautifully with a leisurely morning enjoying a fressh cuppa...
